Weekly Activities at the Village

 

  • Black Creek Pioneer Village is closed for general visitation from December 23, 2011 - May 1, 2012.
  • The Village does open for a special period during March Break
    (Saturday, March 10th through until Sunday, March 18th
    Open 10am - 4:30pm, 11am - 4:30pm weekends).
  • We are open year round for Education & Corporate groups and Weddings.

There are many ways to make the most of your visit to Black Creek Pioneer Village...

Explore the Village:

Let your curiosity be your guide as you explore the landscapes, buildings and the lifestyles of 150 years ago. Don't forget to ask the interpreters lots of questions along the way.

Drop by the Demonstrations and Special Activities:

Everyday Black Creek offers demonstrations and activities that showcase rural Ontario life in the mid 1800s. So be ready to join in and ask questions. You will receive a schedule at the admission desk when you arrive. Click here for more information about what's on at Black Creek.

Dine in the Restaurant:

The Half Way House Restaurant offers the perfect, period-inspired dining experience. For a quick snack, the Event Pavilion BBQ is an excellent alternative. Visit Food & Shopping for details and operating hours.

Participate in a Guided Tour:

For those looking for a structured visit, knowledgeable tour guides are available to take groups on planned tours through the Village. To book your tour guide contact our Customer Service at 416-667-6284. (20 person minimum)

Enjoy Nature:

The green landscapes, farm animals, historic gardens and slower pace, combine to create a country serenity in the middle of the city. It's a great place to escape the concrete jungle and savour the seasons.

Go Shopping:

From flour that has been stone-ground in Roblins Mill, to hand-crafted tin lanterns from the village Tinsmith, and CDs of period music, you'll find pioneer-related items to buy at Black Creek that are difficult to find anywhere else. Check the Shopping section for more information.

See a Performance or Visit a Festival:

The Event Pavilion serves as the focal point for festivals and stage performances throughout the operating season. Check the Events Calendar for a complete list of the seasons events.
