Sheep Shearing

Watch as our farmers shear sheep the old-fashioned way. No electric shears here!

Meet our little lambs watch them frolic in the field!

Sheep to Shawl

Discover how the wool on a sheep becomes the yarn in your sweater. Practice your carding and finger spinning and then explore the entire spinning and dying process in Stongs' First House. Head on over to the Weaver's Shop to learn how the weaver created beautiful blankets from yarn. While you are there, try our finger looms! Watch for our knitting experts as you explore the Village. They will be knitting pioneer sweaters called hug-me-tights!

Spinning & Dying

Explore the spinning and dying process in depth. Handle the sheep's wool, tease and card out the knots, and marvel at the colourful array of natural dyes.
